Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms govern your use of bidspotlight.com - submitting a site, paying for a placement, and receiving a promo video. By submitting a listing or paying for a placement you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1.What Bid Spotlight is
Bid Spotlight is a pay-to-rank leaderboard for sites and apps. You pay to claim a spot; your rank on the board is your total confirmed spend in the current window, with ties broken by the most recent payment. The board resets when a window closes and a new one opens.
Every paid placement is advertising. Wherever your placement appears - the leaderboard, a promo video, or a social post - it is labeled Sponsored. We do not guarantee traffic, clicks, views, sales, followers, or any specific social exposure. What you are buying is the placement, the promo video, and eligibility for social features - nothing more.
2.Who can use Bid Spotlight
You must be at least 18 years old. If you act for a company or other entity, you confirm you have the authority to bind it to these terms. The email you submit must be accurate and one you control - receipts, status updates, and your promo-video delivery link all go there.
3.Submitting a listing
You send us a URL and a contact email. We screen every listing against our halal and safety policy (section 4) using automated tools plus a human check when needed. We may reject any listing, before or after payment, at our sole discretion. Approval is not a guarantee that a listing stays live - listings can also be removed later under sections 4 and 7.
4.Halal and safety policy
This is a content policy about what appears on Bid Spotlight - it applies to every listing the same way. We do not accept:
- Gambling, betting, casinos, lotteries, or games of chance
- Adult or sexual content
- Riba (interest): interest-based lending, interest-bearing credit products, forex, CFDs, margin or leveraged trading, interest-based crypto lending
- Alcohol, tobacco, or drugs
- Scams, MLM, pyramid, or get-rich-quick schemes
- Malware, phishing, or harmful downloads
- Hate speech or content inciting violence
- Anything deceptive or illegal in the markets it targets
Borderline categories (for example generic crypto tools, insurance, dating, or fintech) go to manual review and may be accepted or declined case by case. If your listing is rejected or removed and you believe that is a mistake, write to [email protected] and a person will review your appeal.
5.Bidding, windows and rank
The leaderboard runs in windows of a fixed length - the live countdown on the board page always shows when the current window closes. Each window has a minimum bid, shown on the submit form. Within a window:
- Your rank is your total confirmed bid value in that window, highest first. A coupon lowers what you pay, never your rank - rank always counts the full bid value.
- Ties are broken by the most recent payment - the listing that paid later ranks higher.
- Every new (first) bid must beat the current top total by at least $1.00 - or the window's minimum bid when the board is empty.
- You can raise any time while your listing is live; a raise adds to your total. To take the top spot with a raise you pay the remaining money - the top total minus what you have already paid this window - with a $1.00 minimum per raise.
- We may place our own sites on the board (a house spot). House spots are our own properties, shown in a separate "Featured by us" row - they never count in the ranking, never set the price to beat, and never compete for the monthly #1 prize. Every placement that holds a rank is a paid customer placement.
- Being outbid does not entitle you to a refund. Your money bought placement and the promo video either way - with one exception: a payment refunded automatically because it was outbid during checkout, which is always refunded in full.
- If another bid takes the top spot while your payment is still processing, your payment can no longer rank - it is refunded in full automatically and your leaderboard position is unchanged.
- When a window closes, ranks reset and a fresh window opens.
6.Payment
Payments run through Stripe Checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. Your spot and rank update only after Stripe confirms your payment - a checkout page that was opened but not completed buys nothing. Prices are in US dollars.
7.Refunds, chargebacks and delisting
- Refunds are issued at our discretion through Stripe, case by case.
- A payment that finishes checkout after another bid already took the top spot is refunded in full automatically - you are never charged for a bid that did not rank.
- Being outbid, losing rank, or the window ending are not refund grounds.
- A partial refund keeps your listing live at its remaining rank; once no paid spend remains, the listing is removed from the board.
- A payment dispute or chargeback removes the listing immediately, for the safety of other buyers, and the spot stays off until the dispute is resolved.
- If we remove a listing under the halal and safety policy after payment, we refund that window's placement - unless the removal was for fraud, malware, phishing, a payment dispute, or a deliberate breach of these terms, in which case no refund is due.
8.The promo video
Every paid placement ships with an auto-generated 9:16 promo video built from your site's own content - its real text and imagery - with a synthetic (AI-generated) voiceover, disclosed on the video itself. We only use what your pages actually say; we never invent statistics, reviews, or claims.
- We deliver the video by email with a download link that stays live for at least 7 days - download it to keep it.
- Once delivered, the video is licensed to you for any use, including in your own ads and social channels.
- We keep the rights to the video template, pipeline, and style. Videos may carry a small Bid Spotlight watermark or end card.
- Generation is best-effort: if we cannot produce a usable video for your site, we tell you and you can request a refund of that window's placement.
9.The monthly #1 prize
When a window closes, the #1 ranked paid placement wins one month of free advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for its promo video, set up and run by us. The rules:
- Every paid customer placement in the window competes. House spots never compete for the prize.
- The prize is one Meta ad campaign for the winner: after we contact the winner and confirm their actual details, a professional designs the ad creative for their site and promo video, and we run the campaign - for up to one month, targeting the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
- The total ad budget is decided and shared with the winner when the prize is claimed, and it is spent on Meta advertising only.
- Everything is subject to Meta's advertising policies: before any winner is announced or any ad runs, we check the winner's site and the ad creative against Meta's current advertising standards. If the winner's site or creative cannot pass the check, or the campaign is rejected and cannot be fixed, the campaign does not run - and the prize passes to the next eligible placement.
- We never announce a winner until that check passes.
- The prize is the campaign itself: we report spend, reach, and results to the winner. No cash alternative. Reach and results are not guaranteed - they depend on Meta's delivery.
10.Social features
Top ranks in a window may be featured in our daily posts on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. This is best-effort and platform-dependent: we do not guarantee any listing will be featured, when, in what form, or with what reach, and platforms may remove, restrict, or change the distribution of any post at any time.
11.Your content and the rights you grant
You warrant that you own the submitted site and its content - or hold the licences needed for it, including logos, text, and screenshots, and that nothing about the submission infringes anyone's rights or breaks any law.
You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to fetch and screenshot the submitted URL and to reproduce, adapt, and publish its content, your mark, and the promo video in connection with Bid Spotlight - the leaderboard, videos, social posts, and our own marketing, for as long as the placement runs and afterwards to the extent archives need.
You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from the content you submit.
12.Prohibited use
Do not game the leaderboard or automate bids, submit sites whose content or rights you do not control, probe or attack our infrastructure, or use the service for anything unlawful. We may remove listings and refuse future service for any of these.
13.Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or the accuracy of any generated video. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is capped at the total you paid us in the window the claim arises from, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The version live at bidspotlight.com/terms when you pay is the one that governs that placement. Material changes get a new last-updated date at the top of this page.
15.Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Disputes get resolved in good faith first - email [email protected] and a person will answer - and failing that, in the courts of Pakistan. Questions about these terms go to the same address.
